You know those religious school-girls that are really fun, but with two reservations? First, they require commitment.
Second, their version of fun always feels a little metaphysical. They aren't with you to be with you, they're with you to get back at Daddy... or God...
Doubt (Meril Streep vs Philip Seymor Hoffman) is like that.
Bergman movies are like that too.
Movies are like dates
Violence is sex. Sex is violence.

Inception incepted me
The idea for this blog came from talking about Inception with friends.
Because I felt like going to Inception was like going on a date.
Dates make promises, as do movies.
Inception promised to be smart, but kind of slutty - you know, the sort that would give you some action, but would involve your head too.
And I felt like Inception was really smart, for most of the date. The pick-up kiss was great - sexy, but smart. Dinner was classy and impressive (see Marion Cotillard). But when the action really started, Inception started to loose its smarts.
Sure, Inception was smart and witty now and again, even later on. But I felt like it was being smart because I expected it to be smart, not because that's really what it wanted to be. When it got to the bedroom... (okay, for PG readers: The nookie) the smarts were forgotten about.
So, if you want to be with someone who seems smart, but really is more sex than smarts, watch Inception.
For all that, it's actually rather clean. (very little swearing, no sex at all)
Feel free to make your own comparisons (of this or other movies) in the comments. I will post those I think best.
